Preparing students for the global economy. Now even earlier.

Project Lead The Way is excited to announce the development of PLTW elementary, the newest addition to PLTW’s hands-on, project-based curricular offerings.

Why PLTW elementary?

Studies show that students decide as early as second and third grade whether they like, and think they are good at, math and science. With successful STEM programs at both the middle school and high school levels, PLTW’s elementary program is a natural fit to prepare students for the global economy even earlier and create a pipeline from kindergarten to career.

What will PLTW elementary look like?

PLTW’s elementary program is designed for students in kindergarten through fifth grades and will align with standards such as Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards.

Through a series of topic-based modules, students will engage in design problems that encourage collaboration, analysis, problem solving, and computational thinking.

The PLTW elementary program will utilize the same high-quality professional development as PLTW’s other programs, but take on a slightly different form to meet the structure and needs of elementary teachers.
