The Engineering Academy
“Scientists investigate that which already is:
Engineers create that which has never
been.”
~ Albert Einstein
The Engineering Academy consists of a series of classes for students in grades 6-12. The middle school program’s Gateway to Technology is an activity oriented program that allows students to explore math, science and technology through Project Lead the Way’s in-depth, hands on educational experiences. Students may be offered courses in: Design and Modeling, the Magic of Electrons, the Science of Technology, Automation and Robotics and Flight and Space.
Students in the high school’s Pathway to Engineering sequence are offered various
courses to continue to peak interest in the field of engineering and technology and
may include: Principles of Engineering, Digital Electronics, Aerospace Engineering,
Biotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Architecture and Computer Integrated
Manufacturing. The curriculum prepares students for demanding two and four year
college engineering programs.
The Pathway To Engineering system works in any standard four-year sequence and prepares students for two or four year college studies in engineering by exposing them to the true scope of the field. Students can earn course credit at accredited colleges and universities for the high school sequence. Students must meet certain qualifications to be awarded college credit.
Currently, Santa Rosa Academy is offering two years of the high school sequence and
will add more classes over the next two years. Students on Red and Blue Tracks may
take the courses at our Menifee Campus.
